This page is a tribute to what I think is the most wonderful driving machine ever devised by humans. Its combination of simplicity, efficiency, durability, performance, personality, price, etc., make it worthy of all the love and admiration that have been bestowed on it.

The Bug was envisioned by none other than Adolf Hitler, who wanted a car that was simple, efficient, and cheap enough that everyone could own one. Once they started making Bugs, there was a government-sponsored financing plan that let you buy the car and have like $10 a month taken out of your pay until the car was paid off. The cars were really cheap, and many people took advantage of this great offer. The Bug was just about the only idea Hitler had that turned out to be any good.
