Veteran's Memorial Page

I am not a veteran. I tried to get into the Navy after college, but a health condition (that has since miraculously cleared up) kept me out. I do, however, have a few friends who are vets, some of them having served in places and situations I'm not sure I would've made it through. These people have given me their side of the story, and I think I can say with some certainty that these men and women who served our country, did their jobs, followed orders regardless of what their personal feelings might have been, who gave up a part of their lives, spent Christmases away from their families so we could lounge in our living rooms with ours back home, and saw things that changed who they were forever, that the rest of us should be very thankful we never have to look at, are deserving of whatever repsect we have to give them. This page is a very small reminder to everyone: If you aren't a vet, thank someone who is. If you are, then thank you.

Go see Saving Private Ryan. Vets have told me, and I believe them, that it's a good movie. Don't take anyone under 15, or anyone you might not feel comfortable opening your deepest emotions to. You may have to by the time it's over.

This page is dedicated to all the men and women, living and dead, who have served their country honorably.

We owe our freedom, and the unprecedented comfort of the lifestyle we take for granted, completely to them.
